In 1968, a truly awe-inspiring occurrence unfolded in Zeitoun, Cairo, Egypt. The image of a lady, referred to as Our Lady of Zeitoun, appeared. For about three years, she would sometimes be seen at night above St. Mary’s Coptic Christian Church, leaving onlookers in amazement.

According to Francis Johnston’s book Zeitoun (1968-1971): When Millions Saw Mary the government’s report stated, “The official investigations have been carried out with the result that it has been considered an undeniable fact that the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing on the Coptic Orthodox Church at Zeitoun in a clear and bright luminous body, seen by all present in front of the church, whether Christian or Moslem. . . .The Government report added that the possibility of fraud had been investigated and found to be completely without foundation.”
When an event of such awe-inspiring magnitude occurs, defying the laws of nature in a way that suggests the presence of an intelligence behind its creation—such as causing Mary to appear above a church dedicated to her—it attests to a superior power over humanity: GOD.
